Campbell’s Crew Cares is a new Arizona 501(c)3 charitable organization with the mission to provide hope to those in need. Although they are new, they have been successful in their mission because of their Chief Inspirational Officer (CIO), 12-year-old Campbell Faulkner. While Campbell was on his Make-A-Wish, he decided he wanted to make a positive difference in the world by finding people he could help because people have been kind and helped him on his journey. As an example of Campbell’s dedication and commitment to helping others, he sold a signed Chicago Cubs jersey that raised $5,000 to help get the charity going.
The first activity Campbell’s Crew participated in was with a project known as Clothe A Child. Clothe A Child takes children from very low-income families shopping for clothing essentials and a small gift. Through the incredible support of donors and the community, they were able to take 150 children shopping in December 2017 and spent approximately $15,000. In less than two months as a charity they had accomplished the goal of raising enough money to fund the Clothe A Child project.
Since their first activity, they continue to help others by regularly assembling and distributing food bags to the homeless. They also hope to increase the number of kids they assist with clothing by adding small group shopping days throughout the year. The next project they plan to help with is Noah’s Kindness Day in October 2018. With their ambition to grow and make a bigger impact, they have needed to fundraise. Their first fundraising event was hosted by the Wings of Flight Foundation and Garrison Brothers Distillery called Bourbon 101. The event brought in 57 guests and a silent auction that raised close to $10,000. This is in addition to a generous donation from the Southwest Airlines Phoenix Maintenance Golf Tournament they received at the beginning of the month.
